TEACHING

I'm an experienced teacher and have taught players of all standards, but I specialise in working with guitarists of an intermediate to advanced level. As well as lessons in jazz, I teach improvisation, technique and theory to guitarists in any style.

I'm a professional guitarist and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Jazz Degree, and winner of Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year 2018 - I'm also experienced in rock, blues, soul, funk and folk. I'm very passionate about music, and love to share my enthusiasm with my students!

I can help you with:

  • Scales/Modes

  • Chords

  • Rhythm & Groove

  • Fretboard knowledge – break out of boxes
    and really own the neck!

  • Jazz Improvisation - modern and old-school

  • Blues Improvisation

  • Technique

  • Theory

  • Composition

  • Music Reading

And much more – please ask!

I don't believe in the 'one size fits all' approach, as every student has their own unique interests and goals. I'm very patient and
encouraging, and seek to make learning guitar a rewarding and enjoyable experience. I like to help students help themselves - establishing a strong technical foundation and good practice habits gives students the tools to go out and play the music they love.
